Vocal Remover (Make an Instrumental)
Vocal Remover — Make an Instrumental
Remove the vocals from any song and download the instrumental — or isolate the center channel as a rough acapella. Free, instant, and your file never leaves your computer.
Remove vocals from any song, free
This free vocal remover takes a stereo song and cancels everything panned dead-center — which in almost every modern mix is the lead vocal. You get an instrumental (karaoke) version you can download as a WAV. It can also flip the trick around and keep only the center channel, giving you a rough acapella.
Unlike most online vocal removers, nothing is uploaded anywhere. The whole process runs inside your browser using the Web Audio API, so it works offline, it is fast, and your unreleased song stays private.
How to use it
- Drop a stereo audio file (MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG or FLAC) into the box above.
- Pick a mode: Remove vocals for an instrumental, or Isolate center for a rough acapella.
- Keep “bass & kick” on — it restores the low end that phase cancellation would otherwise remove.
- Hit Process, preview the result, download the WAV.
How vocal removal actually works
The classic technique is phase cancellation: subtract the right channel from the left, and anything identical in both channels — the center — disappears. Vocals, kick and bass usually live in the center, which is why this tool lets you add back everything below 130 Hz from the original mix so the groove survives.
Because it is a phase trick and not AI stem separation, results depend on the mix: wide stereo reverbs and doubles will remain, and songs with hard-panned vocals will not cancel. For a quick karaoke version, a writing reference or a remix sketch, it is usually all you need — and it takes seconds.
FAQ
Is this vocal remover really free?
Yes. Free forever, no sign-up, no watermarks, no upload limits - the processing happens on your own computer.
Why can I still hear some vocals?
This tool uses phase cancellation, which removes only what is panned exactly center. Stereo reverb tails, delays and doubled vocals sit on the sides, so traces of them can remain. It works best on typical modern mixes with a centered lead vocal.
Does my song get uploaded to a server?
No. The file is decoded and processed entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API. It never leaves your device.
Can I get a clean acapella?
The Isolate center mode gives you a rough acapella - the center channel with the low end filtered out. It is great as a reference or for sampling, but it is not a studio-grade stem separation.
What files does it accept?
Anything your browser can decode: WAV, MP3, AAC/M4A, OGG and usually FLAC. Output is a 16-bit WAV.
