Samples to ms / Hz Calculator
Samples to ms / Hz Calculator
Convert samples to milliseconds and Hz at any sample rate. Type samples or ms and the rest updates, with a buffer-size latency table for 44.1 to 192 kHz.

Convert samples, milliseconds and Hz
Set your sample rate, then type samples or milliseconds and the other updates instantly. Handy for buffer-size latency, lining up edits, or setting sample-accurate delays.
The formula
Milliseconds = samples divided by sample rate, times 1000. So 512 samples at 48 kHz is about 10.67 ms. To go back, samples = milliseconds times sample rate, divided by 1000.
FAQ
How many ms is 512 samples?
At 48 kHz, 512 samples is about 10.67 ms. At 44.1 kHz it is about 11.61 ms.
How do I lower latency?
Use a smaller audio buffer (fewer samples) or a higher sample rate, at the cost of more CPU.
What is round-trip latency?
Input plus output buffering. As a rough guide it is about double the buffer latency, plus converter overhead.
