1. Set your audio device and buffer — low latency
Pick your interface (ASIO) and a small buffer so you don't hear lag while recording.
2. Arm an audio track in the Mixer — route the input
Select your mic input on a mixer track and arm it for recording.
3. Record dry, monitor with light FX — keep takes clean
Print dry; add a little reverb to your headphone mix for comfort, not to the recording.
4. Comp your takes in the playlist — keep the best
Record several passes and slice the best lines together.
5. Then mix — EQ, comp, the chain
Once tracked, build your vocal chain on the mixer track.
