1. High-pass 60-100 Hz — clean the bottom
Remove rumble and pops the vocal doesn't need.
2. Cut mud 200-400 Hz — clarity
Boxy, cloudy vocals clear up with a gentle dip here.
3. Tame harshness 2-5 kHz — smooth
Dip the spots that fatigue the ear; pair with de-essing for the 'S' sounds.
4. Add presence 3-6 kHz — upfront
A small boost brings the vocal forward in the mix.
5. Add air 10-15 kHz — expensive sheen
A high shelf opens the top for that polished, modern sheen.
