Black Friday 2026 - November 27
Most Black Friday guides are written in November, after the prices are already inflated. This one is written in August, with the real prices in front of you — so you can tell a discount from a story.

Black Friday 2026 - Cyber Monday lands November 30
Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. Sweetwater's sale usually opens the week before and the deepest cuts land on stock the brand wants gone before the new model year. Bookmark this page: the prices here are the honest August baseline, and I update the page as the sale gets close.

What actually gets discounted
Not everything drops. The pattern repeats every year: interfaces, monitors, headphones and controllers get real cuts, because manufacturers want the channel clear before spring product cycles. Flagship microphones from Neumann, Telefunken and AEA barely move — those are made in small batches and the demand does not sag in November. Plugins are the opposite extreme: 60-80% off is normal, and waiting for the sale is almost always right.

| Condenser mic | $1,299 - $1,349.10 | 15-25% | Yes, most years |

The rule that saves you money
Decide what you need in October, write the model names down, then check those exact models on the sale day. The trap on Black Friday is not overpaying — it is buying something you did not want at a price that felt clever. A $600 interface at 20% off is a great deal only if you actually needed eight preamps.
Second rule: know the normal price before the sale. Every year some listings get marked up in October and then "discounted" back to the usual number. The prices below are what this gear costs right now, in late August — use them as your baseline and compare in November.
Interfaces: where the real money is saved
This is the category with the largest absolute savings, because the price tags are high enough that 20% is meaningful. The Neve 88M USB Audio Interface Rev2 (USB at $1,365 dropping to the low four figures is a different purchase than a $150 interface losing $30. Full list: interface deals to watch.

Monitors: buy the pair, not the single
Watch the listing carefully in November. A lot of monitor "deals" are single-speaker prices, and a pair costs double. The models below are the ones worth tracking — full monitor breakdown here.

What to skip
Cables, stands, pop filters and other accessories rarely move more than a few dollars, and buying them "because it is Black Friday" is how a $400 budget becomes $700 with nothing that changes your sound. Same with entry-level mics under $150 — the discount is real but small, and the upgrade path is short.
The other thing to skip is gear meant to fix a skill problem. A better microphone will not fix a vocal that is recorded too hot, sung off-mic and mixed without a plan. That is the part that costs nothing to fix — the Vocal Chain Bible exists exactly for that.
FAQ
When is Black Friday 2026?
November 27, 2026. Cyber Monday is November 30. Sweetwater and most US retailers open their sales the week before and run rolling doorbusters through the weekend.
Is Black Friday actually the cheapest time to buy studio gear?
For plugins, yes, by a wide margin. For hardware it is usually the best price of the year, but not dramatically better than a good spring promo — expect 15-25% rather than half off.
Should I wait for Black Friday to buy an interface?
If you can wait two months, yes. Interfaces are one of the categories that reliably drops, and the absolute savings on a $600-1,300 unit are worth the wait.
What never goes on sale?
Flagship large-diaphragm microphones (Neumann, Telefunken, AEA), boutique preamps and anything made in small batches. Those sell out at full price regardless of the calendar.

5+ years ago I moved to LA with zero connections and started building from nothing — 14-hour days, meeting people and interning at studios. It took me 5+ years to meet and interview 100+ Grammy-winning engineers — then I turned it all into the Vocal Chain Bible.
