Black Friday 2026 · Universal Audio
Universal Audio is one of the brands people wait for in November, and its promotions have often been something other than a plain price cut. In past years, Apollo deals have come with bundled or free UAD plugins. This page covers the whole lineup worth watching and how to pick the right Apollo.

Apollo Solo Heritage Edition at Sweetwater
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30. Most US music retailers start their holiday pricing the week before. UA hardware is sold under advertised-price rules, so the bigger holiday value usually comes as bundled UAD plugins rather than deep cuts. Several listings below already include a plugin bundle in the name, so check what is in the box before you compare prices.
All the prices here were checked at Sweetwater on October 24, 2026. Use them as your baseline: if a November price is not lower, it is not a deal. The links open the live product page, so you always see the current price, and I will update this page during Black Friday week.

Which Apollo do you need?
Apollo lineup, prices checked October 24, 2026
| Model | Best for | Sweetwater today |
|---|---|---|
| Apollo Solo Heritage Edition | one voice, entry to UAD | $553.61 |
| Apollo Twin X DUO Gen 2 | solo artist, two inputs | $899.10 |
| Apollo Twin X DUO Gen 2 Pro bundle | same, bigger plugin bundle | $1,298 |
| Apollo Twin X QUAD Gen 2 | more plugins while tracking | $1,499 |
| Apollo x4 Gen 2 | four mic inputs, desktop | $1,999 |
| Apollo x8 Gen 2 | full studio, rack | $2,899 |
People buy an Apollo for the Unison preamps and real-time DSP, which let you track through UAD plugins (a 610, an 1176, an LA-2A) with no audible latency. If you record one voice at a time, the Twin X DUO is enough. Step up to the QUAD only if you run long plugin chains while tracking, and to the x4 or x8 only if you need more simultaneous inputs.

UAD plugins without the hardware
If you do not need Unison preamps or DSP, the native UAD plugins run on your computer and get cut hard during holiday sales. Plugin Boutique carries the UAD 1176 Collection, the UAD Teletronix LA-2A Collection and the UAD Pultec Collection. Going native is the cheapest way to put the classic 1176-into-LA-2A order on your vocal.

An Apollo records it. The chain makes it a record.
The Vocal Chain eBible collects 88 vocal chains from hit records, as the engineers described them: the mic, the preamp and every plugin with its settings, in order. Every chain comes in two versions, one with paid plugins and one with free ones.

Does Universal Audio have Black Friday sales?
In past years, UA has run holiday promotions on both hardware and UAD plugins. On hardware, the value has often come as bundled plugins rather than only a lower price. Today's prices are listed above for comparison.
Apollo Twin DUO or QUAD?
DUO if you track one or two sources with a few plugins. QUAD if you run longer UAD chains while tracking or mixing; the preamps are the same.
Volt or Apollo?
Volt is a straightforward USB interface with a vintage preamp mode or a built-in 76 compressor. Apollo adds Unison preamps and real-time DSP for UAD plugins. If you will not use UAD plugins while tracking, Volt is enough.
Do I need DSP in 2026?
Not for mixing; modern computers run native plugins well. DSP still matters for tracking through plugin chains with near-zero latency.
Is the Apollo Twin X worth it for vocals?
If you want to record through a 610 or 1176 emulation with no latency, yes. If you only need clean preamps, a cheaper interface plus native plugins does the job.
