Native Instruments Black Friday 2026: Komplete 26, Massive XL and Kontakt 8 Deals
Black Friday 2026 · Native Instruments
Last Black Friday, Native Instruments put its whole catalog at 50% off, Komplete included, and the deal ran until December 8. This year's lineup is new: Komplete 26 launched in May and Massive XL came out on October 27. Here is what each edition costs today, the cheaper ways into Komplete 26 Standard, and what to buy now versus later.
Last Black Friday
50% OFF
NI's whole catalog, Komplete included (until Dec 8, 2025)
Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30. When I checked Plugin Boutique on October 29, 2026, none of the Komplete 26 bundles were discounted. Massive XL was at its $99 launch price, and three small NI effects were $5 each until November 1.

What Native Instruments did last Black Friday
According to Plugin Boutique's 2025 Black Friday guide, NI ran its entire catalog at 50% off the list price, including every edition of Komplete 15 and the upgrades, until December 8. Before that, Plugin Boutique had an exclusive early-access deal with the three Komplete 15 Select bundles at 50% off, which ended on November 13.
Nothing guarantees a repeat, but if NI does the same this year, half of today's list prices would put Komplete 26 Standard at about $275 and Ultimate at about $625. That's why I wouldn't buy a Komplete bundle at full price in November.
Komplete 26: which edition?
Komplete 26 came out on May 5, 2026. NI now names the bundle after the year, so the next one will be Komplete 27.
Komplete 26 at Plugin Boutique, October 29, 2026
| Edition | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Select (Beats, Band or Electronic) | $99 | A genre toolkit (Beats includes Battery 4 and Ozone 12 Elements) plus $99 off a later upgrade to Standard |
| Standard | $549 | 80+ instruments and effects, 70+ Expansions: Kontakt 8, Massive X, Guitar Rig 7 Pro, Absynth 6, iZotope Elements tools, Brainworx effects |

1. Native Instruments Komplete 26 Standard — the one most producers need
Kontakt 8, Massive X, Guitar Rig 7 Pro and Absynth 6 come in Standard, along with the iZotope Elements tools and Brainworx effects. If you make beats, pop or electronic music, Standard covers the instruments you'll actually use.

2. Native Instruments Komplete 26 Ultimate — for scoring and big libraries
Ultimate makes sense if you write for film, TV or games, or you want the orchestral, string and session-player libraries. If you only make beats, the extra money buys content you may never load.

3. Native Instruments Komplete Select Beats — the $99 way in
Each Select edition is a hand-picked toolkit for a genre. Beats suits hip-hop, pop and R&B producers; Band is built around session instruments; Electronic leans on synths and textures. Each one also takes $99 off a later upgrade to Standard.

Cheaper ways into Komplete 26 Standard
Before you pay $549, check two routes. The Standard crossgrade costs $349 if you own almost any serious NI or iZotope product: Kontakt 6 to 8, Massive X, Guitar Rig 6 or 7, Battery 3 or 4, Absynth 5 or 6, Reaktor 6, a Kontakt instrument over €199, or a Standard or Advanced version of Ozone, Nectar, Neutron or RX. That's $200 less for exactly the same bundle.
The second route is Select first. Select costs $99 and the upgrade from Select to Standard costs $449, which adds up to the same $548 as Standard. The difference is that you can start with $99 now and upgrade later, and last year Select bundles were the ones that got an exclusive early discount. There's also an options page for every Komplete 26 upgrade, including paths from older Komplete versions.

4. Native Instruments Massive XL — the new synth, at half price
Released October 27, 2026, as the successor to Massive X. It builds editable patches from an audio reference, adds new effects and polyphonic aftertouch, and loads Massive X presets. Massive XL isn't part of Komplete 26, which still ships Massive X. Massive X owners pay $49 to update; owners of the original Massive pay $79 to crossgrade.

5. Native Instruments Kontakt 8 — the sampler everything runs in
Many third-party sample libraries need the full version of Kontakt. Kontakt 8 adds Chords and Phrases tools and the Leap and Conflux instruments. Owners of Kontakt 2 to 7 can upgrade for $99, and there's a $149 crossgrade too.

6. Native Instruments Battery 4 — the drum sampler
A fast drum sampler with color-coded cells, seven sample modes and built-in effects (bus compressor, transient shaper, tape saturation). It's also part of Komplete Select Beats ($99), so compare before you buy it alone.

7. Native Instruments Guitar Rig 7 Pro — amps and creative effects
Guitar and bass amps, pedals and a whole rack of studio and lo-fi effects. It works just as well on synths and vocals as on guitars.

8. Native Instruments Session Strings 2 — small string ensemble
An intimate string ensemble (four violins, three violas, two cellos, two basses) with smart chords and a rhythm animator. A quick way to put strings on a pop or R&B record.

Three NI effects for $5 (until November 1)
NI split three effects out of Guitar Rig 7 Pro and is selling them for $5 each until November 1: Psyche Delay for 60s-style reverse echoes, Tape Wobble for wow, flutter and tape noise, and Kolor with ten distortion types. Any paid Plugin Boutique order also unlocks a free gift, so a $5 effect is enough to qualify.
Buy now or wait?
My call, October 29, 2026

Komplete gives you the sounds. The chain makes them a record.
The Vocal Chain eBible collects 88 vocal chains from hit records, as the engineers described them to me: every plugin, its settings and the order it sits in. Each chain comes in two versions, one with paid plugins and one with free ones, so you know exactly what is worth buying this week.

Does Native Instruments have a Black Friday sale?
Yes. In 2025, Plugin Boutique listed NI's whole catalog at 50% off, including every Komplete 15 edition and upgrade, until December 8. On October 29, 2026, the Komplete 26 bundles were not yet discounted.
Which Komplete 26 should I buy?
Standard for most producers: it includes Kontakt 8, Massive X, Guitar Rig 7 Pro and Absynth 6. Ultimate if you need orchestral, string and session-player libraries. Select ($99) if you want a genre toolkit now and an upgrade path later.
Is there a cheaper way to get Komplete 26 Standard?
Yes. The crossgrade costs $349 for owners of products like Kontakt 6 to 8, Massive X, Battery 3 or 4, or a Standard or Advanced iZotope Ozone, Nectar, Neutron or RX. Buying Select ($99) and later the upgrade from Select ($449) totals $548, the same as Standard.
Does Komplete 26 include Massive XL?
No. Komplete 26 includes Massive X. Massive XL came out on October 27, 2026 and is sold separately: $99 at launch, $49 as an update from Massive X and $79 as a crossgrade from the original Massive.

5+ years ago I moved to LA with zero connections and started building from nothing — 14-hour days, meeting people and interning at studios. It took me 5+ years to meet and interview 100+ Grammy-winning engineers — then I turned it all into the Vocal Chain Bible.
